Kiwanis Club of Clinton Township North

Service Projects

Our club conducts a variety of service projects throughout the year. These include one-time events that meet specific ad hoc needs within our community as well as a standing list of activities that we repeat every year.

Some of our seasonal community service projects include:

Contributions to the Kiwanis of Michigan Foundation, a non-profit affiliate that provides recreational opportunities for young children at various hospitals throughout the State of Michigan.

Food baskets for needy families with small kids, delivering every Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Sewing Dolls & Bears for distribution to hospitalized kids.

Bring Up Grades program at Huron Elementary School, a special program designed to encourage and recognize third, fourth, and fifth graders who improve by one full letter grade in at least one subject while not going down in any other subject. Approximately 200 children are recognized after receiving their second and third report cards.

Providing free dictionaries to approximately 180 third graders each year.

Meals for the homeless, working with MCREST, where our club members actually serve home-cooked meals for people who are temporarily housed in shelters.

Support of the Kiwanis International Foundation, which provides disaster relief funds to victims in countries throughout the world, including the United States.

Members Matt Poliuto, Stan Biernacki, Jerry Lang, and Toni Tarczy distribute dictionaries to third graders at a local elementary school in Clinton Township.
