CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS

Ongoing Events

Merchandise Sales
Members sell official club pins and coffee mugs as we attend other Kiwanis events. This is an ongoing fund raiser for our club. If you are interested in purchasing any of our itmes, click the "Buy Stuff" link on our web site.

Kiwanis International Foundation
Our club supports the Kiwanis International Foundation with an annual contribution to this fund.

Michigan District of Kiwanis Foundation
Throughout the year, we contribute to the Michigan District of Kiwanis Foundation. The Foundation provides recreational opportunities for youngsters in children's hospitals throughout Michigan. Members also spend hours sewing teddy bears and cloth dolls that are distributed to hospitalized children.

Monthly Calendar
October
Working with the home clubs of the new Michigan District Governor and the Immediate Past Governor, we host a Sunday afternoon brunch and a Governor's Banner Exchange Program followed by a Governor's Roast. This is a truly fun event offering attendees more fun than Kiwanians are ordinarily allowed to have. Tickets for this hilarious afternoon, when available, can be purchased online by clicking the "Buy Stuff" link here on our web site.

November
Some of our members winter in Mulegé, Mexico. While vacationing in Baja California, they team up with other locals and provide clothing and food drives to help needy families. Toys are collected for the small children. Working closely with a local church mission, they provide other services such as driving folks to a hospital facility located over a hundred miles away.

December
Members provide a gift wrapping service at a local Border's book store during the holiday season. The book store provides the materials and our club provides the gift wrapping staff who work for tips contributed to our community service account.

January
We send funds to Mulegé Mexico that provide food for a month for over a hundred children in the poverty-stricken village. Our club also sponsors an entry in the Annual Rotary Club's Pig Race. Many of the Rotarians there work side by side with our Kiwanians there to provide local service projects that benefit the kids and the poor.

February
This is about when Hell freezes over... at least in Michigan.
