The Kiwanis Club of Hell, Michigan.

About Us

Mission Statement

The Kiwanis Club of Hell, Michigan, is an organization of business and professional men and women, dedicated to improving the quality of life of children in our community. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Kiwanis Club of Hell conducts its regular meetings in an on-line chat room, affording individuals an opportunity to participate in the Kiwanis organization as active members, especially if their business, personal, or geographic situations do not allow them to be members of a more traditional style of Kiwanis club. This club attempts to redefine "community" as well as "community service" for our friends, neighbors, and co-workers of the twenty-first century.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Will other clubs be able to earn an interclub credit by having members attend an on-line meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Hell?

A. Yes. Interclub credits may be earned when the required number of members of another Kiwanis club attend at least 2/3rds (40 minutes) of a regular meeting. The visiting club must make prior arrangements with our club secretary ahead of time, providing the date and time of the proposed inter club visit, as well as the names, screen names, and email addresses of the potential participants so that they may receive an invitation to join the meeting chat room. Interclub credits may be earned during other official traditional meetings (such as a board meeting, annual meeting, or other physical gathering) of the club.

Q. Will there be opportunities to conduct public meetings, fund raisers and events?

A. Yes. Club members are encouraged to discuss ideas for public as well as online fund raisers and events. We have previously held a District Governor Roast and various eBay auction fund raisers. We plan to hold a chili cook off in Hell.

Q. I do not live in Michigan. Can I still be a member?

A. Yes. Club members may reside anywhere around the world. The Board of Directors may adopt projects that benefit any community in the world.

Q. Will we be allowed to attend District functions?

A. Yes. Our club and its members are entitled to all the privileges and rights of any Kiwanis club in good standing in the Michigan District, including delegates at district and international conventions, visiting other Kiwanis clubs to earn attendance credits, etc.

Q. Due to my crazy schedule, is it OK to miss an online meeting?

A. Yes. While member participation in online meetings is strongly encouraged, this club is designed to meet the needs of young professionals who cannot attend every meeting because of unusual or changing work/school schedules and or geographic limitations. Active members are expected to pay their dues, participate in fund raisers, keep in communication with our other members by reading and posting to our message boards, attend whatever meetings they can, and serve on a committee if possible.

Q. Can I attend an online meeting as a guest?

A. Yes. Click on the Questions link below to get more information on how to attend an online meeting of the club. You need to be an AOL subscriber, or if not, you can download AOL's free AIM™ software product to access our meeting chatroom. You must notify the secretary in advance, providing the date of the requested meeting, your name, AOL or AIM screen name, and email address in order to receive an invitation to join the chat room.

Q. How will other clubs in the same division as the Kiwanis Club of Hell be able to earn an interclub visit to qualify for a Round Robin Award?

A. Several opportunities will be available to earn an interclub at a traditional meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Hell. However, because the club will conduct the majority of its meetings online, the District Office may exclude visiting the Kiwanis Club of Hell from its traditional Round Robin criteria.
